None should be excited that the virus has spread to Hogsmeade. I am perfectly capable of understanding why there is excitement in the air, but am I the only one wondering how it spread if we're in a quarantine? It suggests this quarantine could be an exercise in futility in the long run.
The only consolation, I suppose, is that the businesses in Hogsmeade desperately need the patronage Hogwarts brings. |

I had a nightmare last night. It was truly horrific.
Please tell me no one shared it
I need to get myself a Dreamless Sleep potion. I do hope they are still in stock. I could brew it myself, of course, but I would need to acquire the necessary ingredients. |

I say, people need to be a bit more careful when they're climbing up or down stairs. Keep your hand on the railing and mind your feet. Just the other day I had to escort a student to the Infirmary who took a nasty tumble. I believe she said her name was Sally. I do hope she's making a speedy recovery.
It looked more like the stairs beat her up
[Hexed to Family and Friends] I've been offered the chance to participate in a research project being undertaken by one of the professors, and it involves a lot less time in the library. I shall be wandering the castle quite a lot, actually.
Just thought I would make you all aware of this new development in the off-chance that you should need to find me. Check the library first when in doubt, but I could be anywhere. |

I am very glad I had the foresight to do my Christmas shopping before I entered the quarantine. It saved me quite a hassle.
A day early, but as I don't plan to write in here tomorrow amidst all the festivities -- Happy Christmas, everyone!
[Hexed to Oliver] I would like to give you your present tonight, if that's all right. |

All right. I do believe I'm over my bout of regret and self-pitying. There will be no more nonsensical talk about what I should have or shouldn't have done.
I'm here and there is, for the moment, no changing that.
All I can do is try to be here for my siblings whilst I continue conducting my private research.
I will miss not being at the Burrow for Christmas, but it wouldn't be Christmas without Bill, George, Ron, or Ginny. I already know from experience

Maybe it was a dreadful mistake to come back here. |

[Hexed to friends, family, and anyone else acquainted with the Weasleys]
The shop is in the hands of a capable staff with mum and dad to keep an eye on everything. I have someone ready to move into my flat. My things are packed.
I'm coming to Hogwarts and I'm afraid there is nothing any of you can do to stop me. You cannot persuade me everything's all right and everyone's being taken care of. Not when there is a Death Eater within the quarantine and not after someone tried setting the castle on fire. Not when Fred's ghost is
If you want me to bring something for you, now is the time to ask.
Harry, I do already have a few winter clothes for Teddy packed so you needn't worry about those. |

Ginevra? George?
If you didn't recognize the handwriting, it's Percy. I purchased one of these journals to keep in touch now that owls can't go through.
You should both know that I've taken over management of Weasleys's Wizard's Wheezes. No, I'm not having any mickey out on you. George, I cannot stress how badly you need a bookkeeper. If I'm lucky it may take me weeks and not months to get this sea of disorganised paperwork sorted out! In your absence I've taken the liberty of hiring a qualified staff. Productivity and profits have not flagged under my watch.
You should also know that Mum, for some reason, thinks she needs compensate for the lack of children she has within her range to smother by smothering me. She's taking her worries out on me.
Well, it wasn't absolutely necessary for me to share that, but I wanted to make George feel guilty.
Are you both all right? Have you been eating enough fiber and grains? Has there been any stagnation in the number of people getting sick? We're all very worried. |
